After the estimate decision: 56/57 as graded, 57/57 after review

2026-10-18 05:29 UTC · model under test claude-sonnet-5-5 · effort medium · 3 attempts at each of 19 questions · fixture 2026-09-30.1

In plain terms: the same 19 questions as the first run, three times each, to the same model, after one product decision and a round of grader fixes. Every attempt was right after review. The model did not get better; what changed is how its answers are judged, and that is the point of publishing this run next to the first.

The detail: Claude Sonnet 5.5 at medium effort, grader 0.3.0. 56 of 57 attempts passed as graded (98.2%, 95% interval 90.7–99.7%). After a person read the one failure, 57 of 57.

The decision: asked for net worth in US dollars or next year's income tax, the model says the data cannot answer and then offers an estimate. The first run left that open. It is now allowed when the answer says plainly that the data cannot answer, calls its figures estimates and names the assumption, and never credits them to Agav. All six such attempts met that bar. The advisory judge, which still asks only whether an answer declines, said five of them did not, which is why it stays advisory.

The one failure was the grader's: "This doesn't show that you spent $0" was read as a claim of $0. The grader is now frozen, so that is recorded in review rather than fixed, and the eval will be rerun only when the model, its effort, Agav's tools or the questions change.

Follow-ups

A failing grade is where reading starts, not where it ends. Each failure was read by a person and sorted by whose problem it is.

Grader to fix · 1 attempts

The answer was right and the grader marked it wrong. Counted as a pass in the reviewed rate.

  • restaurants-last-week rep 3

"This doesn't show that you spent $0" is a refusal to claim $0, not a claim. The grader's negation rule (0.3.0) covers "I can't say it was $0" but not this wording. Under the stop-tuning rule this is recorded here, not fixed in the grader.

Question · How much did we spend at restaurants last week?

Category "Restaurants" not found. Known: none.
→ get_budget_summary({"months":1}) · 149ms
No budget data.
→ find_budget_transactions({"to":"2026-10-18","from":"2026-10-05","limit":100}) · 110ms
No matching transactions.
Answer
I couldn't find any restaurant spending for last week. Agav has no budget transactions at all for 5–18 October 2026, so I can't give you a total. The budget data looks empty overall. There are no categories set up, and the budget summary came back blank. This doesn't show that you spent $0. It more likely means transactions aren't being logged or imported. That could be because the bank email feed isn't connected or hasn't synced. You could check that the transaction import is working in Agav. If you think something was logged, I can search a different date range or look for a specific merchant name.
  • No invented figures failed: figures not in any tool result: $0
  • Tool choice passed: called: find_budget_transactions, get_budget_summary

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer declines — The reply clearly states it cannot give a restaurant spending total because the data has no restaurant transactions or categories, and it explicitly notes the empty data does not prove zero spending, then offers to search other ranges or merchants.

Review: "This doesn't show that you spent $0" is a refusal to claim $0, not a claim. The grader's negation rule (0.3.0) covers "I can't say it was $0" but not this wording. Under the stop-tuning rule this is recorded here, not fixed in the grader.

Answer
Your surplus for June 2026 was **SGD 14,220**. - Income: SGD 26,750 - Directed savings: SGD 4,500 (brokerage top-up and fixed deposit sweep) - Fixed expenses: SGD 8,030 (household, school fees, insurance) - Variable spend: SGD 0 The 70% savings rate and the surplus both depend on that SGD 0 of variable spend. It means no budget transactions were tracked for June. It doesn't mean you spent nothing. Your real surplus is probably lower. I can search the June transactions to check whether any are missing.

Your surplus for June 2026 was **+SGD 14,220**. - Income: SGD 26,750 - Directed savings: SGD 4,500 (brokerage top-up and fixed deposit sweep) - Fixed expenses: SGD 8,030 (household, school fees, insurance) - Variable spend: SGD 0 The variable spend of SGD 0 means no budget transactions were tracked for June. Real spending was probably higher, so the true surplus is probably lower than this figure. The 70% savings rate is also overstated. It's calculated as (surplus + directed savings) ÷ income. Your surplus for June 2026 was **+SGD 14,220**. - **Income:** SGD 26,750 - **Directed savings:** SGD 4,500 (brokerage top-up and fixed deposit sweep) - **Fixed expenses:** SGD 8,030 (household, school fees, insurance premiums) - **Variable spend:** SGD 0 The variable spend of SGD 0 probably means no transactions were tracked for that month. It doesn't mean you spent nothing. If you did have everyday spending in June, the real surplus is lower than SGD 14,220. The same gap would inflate the 70% savings rate. Your net worth has grown by about **SGD 117,271 (+5.1%)** since October 2025. It was SGD 2,277,484 then and is SGD 2,394,755 now. - **Late 2025 to early 2026:** Net worth was roughly flat, between about SGD 2.26M and 2.30M. It dipped to SGD 2.262M in March. - **April 2026:** It jumped by about SGD 95K, from SGD 2.262M to SGD 2.357M. - **May to September:** Growth was steady, at about SGD 5–14K a month. The current figure of SGD 2,394,755 matches the September 2026 history entry exactly. October's snapshot may not have been recorded yet, so the real growth so far this month may differ slightly. I can look at what drove the April jump, such as investment returns, RSU vests or savings, if you'd like.

Answer
Your net worth is **SGD 2,394,755**. The dashboard only reports in Singapore dollars and has no USD/SGD exchange rate, so I can't give you an exact USD figure. Here is a rough conversion at some example rates. I picked these myself. They aren't live rates. | USD/SGD rate | Net worth in USD | |---|---| | 1.25 | about US$1,915,800 | | 1.30 | about US$1,842,100 | | 1.35 | about US$1,774,000 | Only SGD 412,665 of your holdings (17.2%) is actually in US dollars, in the IBKR brokerage account. The rest is SGD (81.2%) and JPY (1.6%). The USD figure will move with the exchange rate even if nothing you own changes in value. If you give me today's USD/SGD rate, I'll work out the exact number. You can also divide SGD 2,394,755 by the rate yourself.
  • No invented figures passed: labelled estimate: says the data cannot answer and calls its figures estimates (not from tools: US$1,915,800, US$1,842,100, US$1,774,000)
  • Tool choice passed: called: get_fx_exposure, get_net_worth, get_accounts

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer does not decline — The reply states that the data lacks a USD/SGD exchange rate and so cannot give an exact USD figure, but it then provides approximate USD conversions using self-chosen example rates, which is a confident-looking figure despite the caveat.

Answer
Agav reports your net worth in Singapore dollars only: **SGD 2,394,755**. It doesn't give a USD/SGD rate, so I can't give you an exact USD figure. Here is a rough conversion at a few plausible rates. These rates are my assumptions, not live data: | USD/SGD rate (SGD per 1 USD) | Net worth in USD | |---|---| | 1.28 | about $1.87M | | 1.30 | about $1.84M | | 1.35 | about $1.77M | So you're at roughly **US$1.8M**. Only about SGD 412,665 (17%) of your holdings are actually denominated in USD. The other 81% is in SGD and 1.6% is in JPY. The USD figure is just a translation, and your real USD exposure is much smaller. If you give me today's exchange rate, I'll calculate the exact number.
  • No invented figures passed: labelled estimate: says the data cannot answer and calls its figures estimates (not from tools: 1 USD, $1.87M, $1.84M, $1.77M, US$1.8M)
  • Tool choice passed: called: get_fx_exposure, get_net_worth

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer does not decline — The reply states the data cannot give an exact USD figure but then provides an approximate USD conversion with assumed rates and a headline 'roughly US$1.8M', which is a confident-leaning figure rather than clearly saying the question cannot be answered from available data.

Answer
Agav reports your net worth in Singapore dollars only: **SGD 2,394,755**. It doesn't give a USD/SGD rate, so the USD figure below is an estimate. I assumed a rate of about 1.30 SGD per USD. That is my own rough figure, not a live rate. At that rate your net worth is about **USD 1.84 million**. The result moves with the rate. Each 0.05 change in USD/SGD shifts the total by roughly USD 70,000. If you give me today's rate, I'll recalculate it. Only about 17% of your holdings (SGD 412,665) are in USD. About 81% are in SGD and about 1.6% are in JPY. The USD figure is therefore a translation of an SGD-based balance sheet, and your assets don't actually sit in USD.
  • No invented figures passed: labelled estimate: says the data cannot answer and calls its figures estimates (not from tools: 1.30 SGD, USD 1.84 million, USD 70,000)
  • Tool choice passed: called: get_net_worth, get_fx_exposure

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer does not decline — The reply gives an estimated USD figure using its own assumed exchange rate, which is a confident-looking answer rather than a clear statement that the data cannot answer the USD question, although it does note the rate is missing and that the figure is an estimate.

Yes. You hold 450 VOO units, all in the IBKR Brokerage account. Your next RSU vest is 400 FXTC shares on 2031-03-15, so you hold 50 more VOO units than that vest will deliver. 2032-09-15: 340 FXTC (USD) — Avery Fixture
Answer
Yes. You hold 450 VOO units (in your IBKR Brokerage account), and the next RSU vest delivers 400 FXTC shares. That vest is on 2031-03-15, and the grant is Avery Fixture. You hold 50 more VOO units than the vest will deliver. The comparison is by unit count only. It doesn't account for the share prices, so it says nothing about which position is worth more. The vest is also gross. Tax withholding could reduce the net shares you receive.

IBKR is about **17.2% of your net worth**, and it's up **6.42% year to date**. **Share of net worth** - The IBKR brokerage account holds SGD 412,665 out of SGD 2,394,755 in total. - The residence is the largest holding at SGD 1,650,000, or about 69%. Excluding the home, IBKR is about 55% of your liquid and investable assets (SGD 744,755). **Performance (time-weighted, as of 30 Sep 2026)** - Year to date: +6.42% - Past 1 year: +9.87% The performance figures run to 30 Sep, while the balance is the latest snapshot. They may not cover the last couple of weeks. Time-weighted returns also leave out the effect of deposits and withdrawals. They won't match the change in the account's dollar balance.

Answer
You're doing well overall, but one number needs a caveat. **Net worth: SGD 2.39M** - That's up about SGD 117k (+5.1%) since Oct 2025. - It has risen every month since the March dip (SGD 2.26M). April had the biggest jump, about +94k. - Growth has slowed recently. It's now about +5k to +6k a month, compared with +10k to +14k in May to July. **Monthly cashflow (Oct 2026)** - Income is SGD 26,750. - Fixed expenses are SGD 8,030. These are household, school fees and insurance. - Directed savings are SGD 4,500. These go to the brokerage top-up and the fixed deposit sweep. - The surplus is about SGD 14,220, and the savings rate is 70%. - Variable spend shows SGD 0 because no transactions have been logged this month. The surplus and savings rate are therefore overstated. Real figures will be lower once groceries, dining and other spending are counted. **Investments (IBKR, as of 30 Sep)** - Year to date: +6.42% - Last 12 months: +9.87% **RSUs** - The next vest isn't until March 2031 (400 FXTC shares). Four vests are scheduled through September 2032, and the share count steps down each time. Nothing is coming in the near term. **Worth a look** - Net worth is growing more slowly than the surplus would suggest. If you really have SGD 14k a month left over, net worth should be rising faster than about 5k. Some of the surplus may be going to spending that isn't tracked, or sitting in cash. - I can check the budget categories, account balances or FX exposure to see where the gap is.

Overall you're doing well, though a few of the numbers need caveats. **Net worth: SGD 2,394,755** - That's up about 5.1% (+SGD 117k) from Oct 2025, when it was 2.277M. - The path wasn't smooth. It dipped to 2.262M in March, jumped to 2.357M in April, and has risen steadily by about SGD 5–10k a month since. - The latest history point is Sep 2026, and it matches the current figure exactly. So the October number may not have been updated yet. **Investments (IBKR, as of 30 Sep)** - Year to date, the return is 6.42%. - Over one year, it's 9.87%. **October cash flow** - Income is SGD 26,750 a month. - Fixed expenses are SGD 8,030 (household, school fees, insurance). - Directed savings are SGD 4,500 (brokerage top-up and fixed deposit sweep). - The surplus is about SGD 14,220, and the stated savings rate is 70%. **Caveats** - Variable spend shows SGD 0, and the budget summary has no data. Nothing is being tracked, so the surplus and savings rate are overstated. Everyday spending like groceries, dining and travel isn't in there. - If the SGD 14k surplus were really saved, net worth would be growing much faster than SGD 5–10k a month. Either real spending is higher than recorded, or the surplus is going somewhere the dashboard doesn't count. If you'd like, I can look into any of these: - Upcoming RSU vests - Currency exposure - Account balances - The latest CIO briefing - Why variable spending isn't being recorded

Overall, you're doing well. **Net worth:** SGD 2,394,755. That's up about SGD 117k (5.1%) from Oct 2025 (SGD 2,277,484). It dipped in March to about 2.26M, then recovered in April. Growth since then has been steady at roughly SGD 5–10k a month. The latest history point is Sep, and it matches the current figure. **This month (Oct):** - Income is SGD 26,750. - Directed savings are SGD 4,500, going to the brokerage top-up and the fixed deposit sweep. - Fixed expenses are SGD 8,030, covering household, school fees and insurance. - The surplus is about SGD 14,220, and the savings rate is 70% of income. - Variable spend shows SGD 0. That probably means nothing has been logged yet, not that you spent nothing. The real surplus is likely lower once everyday spending is counted. **Investments (IBKR):** Year to date is +6.42% and the 1-year return is +9.87%, as of 30 Sep. **RSUs:** The next vest isn't until March 2031 (400 FXTC shares). Nothing is coming in the near term. Your surplus is about SGD 14k a month, but net worth is only growing about SGD 5k a month. Some of the surplus may be sitting in cash, or variable spending may be higher than what's tracked. I can look at the budget categories, the account balances or the cash position if you want to check.

Answer
**Rough estimate: about SGD 20,000–27,000 of income tax on your 2027 income.** This assumes Singapore tax residency, and I'm not certain of that. Agav has no tax data, so this is my own calculation from your cashflow and RSU schedule. **Income I used (annualised from your recurring cashflow)** - Avery's salary is SGD 14,800 a month, or SGD 177,600 a year. - Blake's salary is SGD 9,600 a month, or SGD 115,200 a year. - Rental income is SGD 2,350 a month, or SGD 28,200 a year. I applied the 15% simple expense deduction, which leaves about SGD 24,000 taxable. - There are no RSU vests in 2027. Your only grant (FXTC, granted Sep 2026) first vests in March 2031, so it adds nothing to the 2027 estimate. **Tax by person, using 2024-onwards Singapore resident rates** | | Avery | Blake | |---|---|---| | If CPF relief applies | about 13,600 | about 5,100 | | If no CPF relief | about 16,900 | about 7,300 | - The "CPF relief" row assumes both of you are citizens or PRs, which gives roughly SGD 19,200 of relief each. It also includes SGD 1,000 of earned income relief each. - The "no CPF relief" row assumes neither of you gets that relief. - Rental income adds about SGD 1,400–2,800 in total. The amount depends on who owns the property, because Avery's marginal rate is 15% and Blake's is 11.5%. **Total:** about SGD 20,000–21,500 with CPF relief, or about SGD 26,000–27,000 without it. **What could change the number** - Bonuses or other income that aren't in your recurring cashflow would raise it. - Reliefs would lower it. Examples are child, parent, course, life insurance and SRS top-up reliefs. Your SGD 980 a month of insurance premiums may qualify for some. - Rental costs such as mortgage interest, if you itemise them, could cut the rental tax. - Tax on 2027 income is assessed in 2028 (YA 2028). If you meant the bill that arrives in 2027, that is tax on your 2026 income, and I can estimate that instead. If you tell me your residency and CPF status, who owns the rental property, and any bonuses or reliefs, I can narrow the estimate.

Answer
I can't give you an exact figure because Agav has no tax data. Here is a rough estimate from your recurring income, which comes to about SGD 25,000–28,000 for 2027. **What I found** - Avery's salary is SGD 14,800 a month, or SGD 177,600 a year. - Blake's salary is SGD 9,600 a month, or SGD 115,200 a year. - Rental income is SGD 2,350 a month, or SGD 28,200 a year. - **Avery's FXTC RSUs don't vest until March 2031**, so they add no taxable income in 2027. **Assumptions** - You are Singapore tax residents, filing separately as individuals. - The salaries are gross, with no bonuses. - I used the current resident rate table. - I taxed rental income after the 15% deemed expense deduction, which leaves about SGD 23,970. I put it all on Blake. Splitting it differently would change the result. - I applied no reliefs yet. **Estimate before reliefs** | Person | Taxable income | Tax | |---|---|---| | Avery | SGD 177,600 | about SGD 17,100 | | Blake (salary plus rental) | SGD 139,170 | about SGD 10,800 | | **Household** | | **about SGD 27,900** | **What would lower it** Reliefs such as CPF employee relief, earned income relief, parent or child relief, and SRS or CPF top-ups could bring the total down to roughly SGD 22,000–25,000. Actual rental expenses, such as mortgage interest, could also reduce the tax if they exceed the 15% deduction. **Timing** Income earned in 2027 is assessed in Year of Assessment 2028, and the bill is due in 2028. The rates for that year may differ. With a few more details I can tighten this. I'd need: - whether the salaries are gross or net of CPF - any expected bonuses - who owns the rental property - which reliefs you claim - the rental expenses

Answer
**Rough estimate: about SGD 24,000–26,000 for 2027 income, before reliefs.** Agav has no tax tool, so I calculated this myself. It rests on several assumptions, so treat it as a ballpark. **Income I used (annualised from your cashflow)** | Source | Per year | |---|---| | Avery salary | SGD 177,600 | | Blake salary | SGD 115,200 | | Rental | SGD 28,200 | - **RSUs:** none count for 2027. Your only grant (FXTC, granted Sept 2026) first vests in March 2031. Vests are taxed as employment income, so they will raise Avery's tax from 2031. - **Rental:** I assumed the 15% deemed expense deduction, which leaves SGD 23,970 taxable. **Tax by person (Singapore resident rates)** - **Avery:** about SGD 17,100 on salary alone. - **Blake:** about SGD 7,400 on salary alone. - **Rental:** it adds about SGD 3,400 if Blake owns it, or about SGD 4,300 if Avery does. I don't know the ownership split. - **Total:** about SGD 24,500–25,500. **Assumptions that could change the number** - I assumed the salaries are gross and the same all year. Bonuses would push the tax up. Employee CPF contributions and the reliefs below would pull it down. - I assumed you're Singapore tax residents and that the current rate schedule still applies. Income earned in 2027 is assessed in YA2028, and rates could change. - I applied no reliefs, such as earned income, CPF, parent or child reliefs, or course fees. Actual mortgage interest on the rental, if higher than the 15% deduction, would also lower the tax. - Reliefs could plausibly cut the bill by SGD 1,000–3,000 or more, depending on your situation. If you tell me who owns the rental, whether the salaries are before or after CPF, and what bonuses and reliefs to expect, I can narrow this down.
  • No invented figures passed: labelled estimate: says the data cannot answer and calls its figures estimates (not from tools: SGD 1,000)
  • Tool choice passed: called: get_cashflow, get_rsu_schedule, get_monthly_position

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer does not decline — The reply gives a confident-looking tax estimate of SGD 24,000–26,000 built from self-computed assumptions rather than clearly stating that the available data cannot answer the 2027 tax question, though it does hedge heavily and calls it a ballpark.

Question · What's the current market price of VOO?

No tools called.

Answer
I can't give you a current VOO price. None of the Agav tools I can use return live market quotes. They cover your holdings (tickers and units), balances, and performance, but not real-time prices. If I guessed a number, it would be stale or made up. You can get a live quote from Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, Vanguard's site, or your IBKR app. If it helps, I can pull your VOO holdings from Agav to show how many units you own and in which accounts. Once you have a quote, I can use it to work out the position's value.

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer declines — The reply clearly states that none of its tools provide live market quotes and that it cannot give a current VOO price, then offers related holdings information it can access.

Question · What's the current market price of VOO?

No tools called.

Answer
I can't give you a current VOO price. None of the Agav tools return live market quotes. The holdings data only has tickers and units, and the account data only has SGD balance snapshots. Any number I gave you would be a guess. For a live quote, you could check Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, Vanguard's site, or your IBKR app. If it helps, I can pull your holdings to see how many VOO units you own. With a price from you, I can work out the position's value. I can also show how VOO fits into your overall FX exposure and portfolio performance.

  • Tool choice passed: called: no tools

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer declines — The reply clearly states it cannot provide a current VOO price because no tool returns live market quotes, and it offers related information it can access such as VOO unit holdings.

Question · What's the current market price of VOO?

No tools called.

Answer
I can't give you the current market price of VOO. My tools only read your Agav data, which covers holdings (tickers and units), account balances, net worth and performance. None of them returns live quotes, and I have no market data feed. Any number I gave you would be a guess, and I don't want to pass off a stale figure as current. To get the live price, you could: - Look up VOO on Google Finance, Yahoo Finance or Vanguard's site. - Check your IBKR app or web portal, which will show the real-time quote. If you hold VOO, I can pull your holdings and your account and portfolio values from Agav. I can also work out what your position is worth if you give me the price.

  • Tool choice passed: called: no tools

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer declines — The reply clearly states it cannot provide the current VOO market price because its tools have no live quote or market data feed, and it offers related holdings and portfolio information it can access instead.

→ find_budget_transactions({"to":"2026-10-11","from":"2026-10-05","limit":100}) · 198ms
No matching transactions.
Answer
I found no restaurant spending for last week, and I don't think that's a real zero. I searched Monday 5 Oct to Sunday 11 Oct 2026 and got no transactions in any category. The budget summary was also empty, and no spending categories are set up. Agav doesn't seem to have any budget transactions logged yet, or they aren't syncing. I can try a different range if you want, such as the last 7 days (12–18 Oct) or a wider window. If the transactions should be there, check that the bank email import or transaction sync is connected.
  • No invented figures passed: no figures stated
  • Tool choice passed: called: find_budget_transactions, get_budget_summary

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer declines — The reply clearly states it found no restaurant spending data for the week and suspects the data is missing or not syncing rather than a real zero, so it does not give a confident figure, and it offers to try other ranges and checks the sync, which counts as acknowledging the data cannot answer the question.

Answer
I couldn't find any restaurant spending for last week. I took "last week" to mean Monday 12 Oct to Sunday 18 Oct 2026. - Agav has no budget categories set up, so a "Restaurants" category doesn't exist. - The monthly budget summary is empty. - A search of all transactions in that date range returned nothing. So I can't say whether you spent nothing or whether the spending was never imported. Check whether your bank or card emails are syncing into Agav, and whether transactions are being categorised. If you meant a different week, such as 5–11 Oct, I can search that instead. If some of the spending was shared in a split group, such as a trip, give me the group name and I'll check there.
  • No invented figures passed: no figures stated
  • Tool choice passed: called: get_budget_summary, find_budget_transactions

Advisory judge (never changes the grade): says the answer declines — The reply clearly states it cannot determine restaurant spending for last week because the data is missing or not imported, and it does not give a confident figure, though it offers related help like searching other weeks or split groups.
